Invitation to a two-day sustainable management conference

A two-day event for academics and professionals focusing on sustainability management will provide a space to share new pedagogical tools developed over the last three years in the Educating for Positive Management (EDUC+M) project. Participants will share best practices related to sustainability education and discuss current challenges. The conference will take place on 31 May and 1 June 2023 on the campus of University Paris Nanterre. Registration is required for the event. More information can be found here.

EDUC+M project accepted for funding

The project proposal EDUCating for Positive Management has been approved by the European Commission and accepted for funding with a total budget of € 381 045. Starting September 1^st, an alliance of six European universities (Universität Potsdam, Masaryk University, Pécsi Tudományegyetem, Universita Degli Studi di Cagliari, Université de Rennes 1 a Université Paris Nanterre) will pursue goals of supporting sustainability, accountability, and long-term thinking in management study programs. Main activity led by Masaryk University is the development of a so-called Positive Business Game. Radmila Štangová and Jan Žák will be representing our Institute in this regard.

International project EDUC+M on its way

Based on the EDUC Alliance, which is an international activity backed by the European Commission, a new initiative is emerging involving all six Alliance members: Universität Potsdam, Masaryk University, Pécsi Tudományegyetem, Universita Degli Studi di Cagliari, Université de Rennes 1 a Université Paris Nanterre. The working title of the emerging project is EDUCating for Positive Management, and it aims to support sustainability, accountability and long-term thinking in management study programs. The first physical meeting of the team took place at Université Paris Nanterre, February 10-11 2020. Our Institute supports work on the project proposal and was represented by Radmila Štangová and Dušan Mladenović.

EDUCating for Positive Management (EDUC+M) project progress

As part of the EDUCating for Positive Management project, work on two intellectual outputs has begun in earnest six months after the project's start. The first output is an online course administered by University of Potsdam called 'Management for the Digital Age'. The second output takes the form of a business application focussed on project management which is adeministered by Masaryk University, called 'Positive Business Game'.

Students from six European universities helped companies respond to sustainability challenges

ECON MUNI offers many unique opportunities to connect studies with practice. In the spring of last year and this year, students had the opportunity to attend a course where they experienced what it is like to work on a project commissioned by the global cosmetics brand Yves Rocher. The best of the first round won a week's stay in Cagliari, Italy. Petra Cendelínová, a student of business economics and management, took part in the competition.
